| Overview: This position will provide project engineering leadership and support for Professional Services Field Engineers and Project Managers to increase technical proficiency and lead operational improvements. This position will be responsible for mentoring Field Service Engineers and Project Managers on complex projects, development of process improvements and serve as a technical liaison on product upgrades and new product releases. The Project Engineer will also assist in the scoping of network and integration projects by effectively interfacing with the customer as well as various internal and external functional groups including contractors and integration partners. Responsibilities: Description: * Assignments involve activities requiring knowledge of software upgrade procedures, MOPS, escalation and trouble ticketing generation. Assists in mentoring of Field Service Engineers and Project Managers * Selects and recommends procedures or development of methods * Technical specification review and contributions * Evaluates technical performance and proficiency of projects and resources. * Prepare, distribute and present reports on operational and process improvements to various audiences * Leads improvements in current procedures and processes to improve efficiency and quality of professional services projects * Assist in identifying and development of new professional service offerings * Technical liaison between engineering and customer service organizations Qualifications: * BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering * Experience working with telecommunications service providers with an emphasis on access technologies * Ability to work on multiple large-scale complex projects * In depth knowledge of the Calix products and portfolio * Experience with IPTV and data deployments on both copper and fiber facilities * 5+ years experience in customer service, professional service or consulting environments * Proven history of excellent follow-through skills * Excellent analysis, problem-solving, organization and negotiation skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Proficient use of Visio, Word and Excel, XML * Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies EOE | ||
