Professional Services Project Manager

Overview:

The Network Services Project Manager is responsible for quoting, defining, prioritizing, planning, project financial performance, managing and coordinating Network Services projects, from design and implementation to customer acceptance. The ideal candidate must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment, to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously, provide quick responses, meet aggressive deadlines and work with various functional groups within Calix as well as outside contractors and integration partners. We are seeking an extremely self-motivated autonomous individual with a proven track record in providing a high level of project management support.


Responsibilities:

Support all aspects of the Network Services process, including but not limited to the following:

* Create detailed quotes and proposals for Network Services projects
* Respond to RFP/RFQs requiring Network Services
* Develop, analyze and maintain accurate individual and master schedules in conjunction with the customer
* Liaison between the customer and the Calix engineer or sub-contractor
* Review progress against plans and schedules; analyze, expose and resolve deviations
* Prepare, distribute and present reports on project status to various audiences
* Track projected vs. actual project costs
* Mentor improvements in current procedures and processes to improve efficiency and quality of professional services projects
* Create detailed project schedules



Qualifications:

* Experience working with telecommunications service providers
* Excellent oral & written communications skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Solid organizational skills
* Ability to work on multiple large-scale complex projects
* In depth knowledge of the Calix products and portfolio with the ability to quote complex professional services projects
* Experience with IPTV deployments on both copper and fiber facilities
* 5+ years experience in customer service, professional service or consulting environments
* Business and financial acumen a must to manage projects effectively
* PMI PMP Certification strongly desired
* Experience with routers, aggregators, ATM switches, bridges, DSL modems
* Experience with digital & fiber multiplexers and class 5 switches
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
* Strong technical account management, customer service and project management skills
* Strong initiative is a key success factor for this role
* Proven history of excellent follow-through skills
* Excellent analysis, problem-solving, organization and negotiation skills
* Proven track record in meeting project deadlines

Skills and Performance Dimensions/Education:

* BS/MS EE, CS, or equivalent with 5 years or more professional service experience in telephony networks.
* Working knowledge of TCP/IP, SONET, ATM, FTTP, Frame Relay, xDSL, T1, T3, GR-303. H.248, SIP
