Our clients include on-line publishers, ecommerce companies, ad networks, ad agencies, media giants and technology companies. The on-line advertising and audience management industry is heating up and we are uniquely positioned for tremendous growth.
Position Summary
The Vice President of Engineering reports to the CTO and is responsible for all the company’s product development activities. es.
Responsibilities
* Develop strategic planning for and direction and control of product development activities
* Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, for all product development
* Ensure the optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and/or customer requirements, per the product and/or marketing requirement
* Ensure that the product is fully and correctly defined and documented
* Hire and direct the development and quality assurance teams
* Plan resources to meet scheduled commitments
* Ensure implementation of formal processes to support the product development life cycle.
Requirements
* Ability to acclimate and contribute to a rapidly growing company and comfortable in both a start-up environment and large organization (we won’t be a start-up for long)
* Strong operational and project management skills in a very high volume distributed processing environment
* Demonstrated team building and leadership skills (managed an engineering team of at least 20 people in the past)
* Solid understanding of engineering technical issues/needs, financial, sales, and marketing as related to product design and development
* At least 10 years engineering experience and deep knowledge of distributed systems and core Java architecture
* BS in Engineering or Computer Science required.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
* Working knowledge of Hadoop or Cassandra
* On-line advertising industry experience
* An advanced degree in Computer Science
* Experience working in a Scrum environment
This position is full-time in New York City. Candidates must be US citizens or have secured appropriate work visas. Candidates must also be within daily commuting distance of Manhattan or willing to relocate.
