| Technical Architect-- Infrastructure and Databases | | Demdex | | Demdex, a well-funded venture-backed start-up is building out its founding technology team and is seeking a Technical Architect to help develop a revolutionary new product that will continue to transform the online advertising space. Demdex has an exceptional and accomplished management team so you will be in the company of real pros building exciting and innovative technology.
The Technical Architect will be responsible for helping to take our system to the next level. In this role, the Architect will report directly to the CTO and will be defining system architecture and database structure in a very high volume distributed processing environment.
The ideal candidate has at least 7 years experience, works effectively both independently and in a team setting, and works well under pressure to meet deadlines. The position requires not only strategic thinking about design and structure, but also hands-on development of these components. It would be beneficial to have experience with online advertising, advertising optimization, software-as-a-service (SaaS) products, and scaling, but it is not a necessity.
Minimum Skills Required:
* BS in Engineering or Computer Sciences
* Deep knowledge of distributed systems and core Java architecture
* Strong database skills (MySQL)
* Tuning and/or scaling in a high volume production environment
* Minimum of 7 years technical experience with increasing responsibilities
* Ability to acclimate and contribute to a rapidly growing company and comfortable in a startup environment. Nice-to-Have Skills:
* Working knowledge of Hadoop or Cassandra
* On-line advertising industry experience
* An advanced degree in Computer Science
* Experience working in a Scrum environment
* A handicap under 10 for client entertaining.
This position is full-time in New York City. Candidates must be US citizens or have secured appropriate work visas. Candidates must also be within daily commuting distance of Manhattan or willing to relocate.
