Ze‐gen Introduction
Ze‐gen, Inc. is a Boston‐based, privately‐held company providing advanced gasification
technology to convert ordinary waste streams into syngas suitable for multiple industrial
and commercial applications. Ze‐gen has an initial commercial focus on gasification of
construction and demolition waste. The Company has been backed by a global syndicate
of top‐tier institutional investors, and is starting operations of a phase‐two
demonstration plant this summer (July 2009). Ze‐gen is aggressively expanding its team
to have the engineering and business capabilities in place to move into siting, financing
and construction of full‐scale commercial facilities beginning in 2010.
Position Summary
The Senior Vice President of Engineering will be a key player on Ze‐gen's executive
leadership team and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the overall
strategic direction of the Company. This individual will play a key role in growing a
company with a clear and urgent market opportunity, and will report directly to Ze‐gen's
CEO. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding leader and "company builder". He or
she will be able to attract, motivate and lead an accomplished, experienced core group
of engineers to implement Ze‐gen's waste gasification technology and processes into a
number of facilities across vertical markets and geographies. This individual will have a
track record of delivering world‐leading products on‐time, instilling processes, setting
technical direction, and growing teams successfully. More specifically, the ideal
candidate will have demonstrated success in problem solving and managing the
deployment and implementation of new technologies in energy or chemicals projects,
and bringing those projects on‐line.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prioritize and manage all aspects of the engineering, procurement, and
development of our first commercial plant and all subsequent facilities
