The mission of the Network Operation Center (NOC) is to provide capacity to the grid by reducing customers’ electricity consumption on an emergency basis. We also participate in growing Energy Efficiency, Carbon Management, and Energy Procurement businesses. In order to provide these services, we meter energy demand at each of our customer sites and, at many sites, we use this connection to remotely reduce our customers’ energy consumption. A robust and highly available network, therefore, is the foundation of our business, and it is critical for this network to be operational at all times.
Your primary mission as the Manager, Network Administration at EnerNOC in Boston, MA will be to manage communications with our distributed network of energy metering devices. Our network is ultimately client-facing, and our Network Administration team works closely with our Customer Service Desk to provide support services to both internal and external customers. Together these two teams form the core of our Network Operations Center (NOC). In this role you will be both a player and a coach, fielding customer calls and requests yourself while managing your team of administrators who reside in Boston and San Francisco—all from the command center in our corporate headquarters. You will be managing a geographically dispersed network of devices that reside inside customers’ firewalls, and not an internal corporate network. You will develop and maintain security policies based on NIST and NERC CIP standards and ensure that our network and your team adhere to those policies. As a player/coach, you will need to have demonstrated experience working with routers, firewalls, network address translation, VPN and cellular communications. Finally, your passion for clean energy and environmental stewardship will provide you with the motivation and drive to lead this team and develop your career with an energy industry leader and pioneer. | | | |
