About this Job
Twitter provides an API (Application Programming Interface) that makes nearly its entirely functionality available to third-party developers. Around this API a community has grown, currently with thousands of group participants and applications. The Twitter developer community does a great job of supporting one another but given the platform's continual evolution, it is necessary to have an official voice constantly communicating with the community. The Twitter Platform is constantly praised for the API's ease and the team affability. However we're no where near done on our goal to be the platform on the Web. We need your help to build and maintain developer happiness. The Platform is quickly growing so an enterprising candidate could work into engineering.

Responsibilities

* Work closely with Platform engineers to recreate triage defects
* Contribute to the Platform code base through bug fixes and maintenance
* Represent API developers when planning new methods and features
* Answer questions and suggest solutions in the Twitter Development Talk group
* Maintain the API documentation with the latest official and unofficial resources
* Approve and deny requests for links to applications and white listing
* Help maintain a directory of third-party Twitter applications
* Represent the platform team through Twitter on @twitterapi
* Code tools to help support the Platform team and the ecosystem

Qualifications

* Previous programming experience, preferably with Ruby and/or Scala.
* Comfortable handwriting XML and JSON data.
* Can learn a technology from an RFC.
* Familiarity with web development and REST APIs
* Support experience
* Track record of practical problem solving
* Active user of Twitter and third-party Twitter apps and tools (preferred)
* Active in the Twitter developer community (preferred)
