Software Engineer - Research

About This Job
Twitter is looking for new members of our technical staff to work on cutting edge projects. You will work in small teams, own the projects that you work on and will have direct input into the business decisions of the company.

Responsibilities

* Pro-actively look for ways to make Twitter better
* Design, implement, debug and maintain research and systems projects including application and infrastructure components
* Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various research system resources
* Code using primarily Java and C, Ruby, Scala
* Conduct design and code reviews
* Pair program
* Interface with product, front-end, and operations teams
* Work with large unstructured and structured data sets. Large multi-terabyte+, 100MM+ daily transaction volumes

Requirements

* MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
* Breadth of Computer Science knowledge
* Understand a variety of constantly evolving research approaches, tools and platforms
* Strong programming and algorithmic skills
