Manufacturing Test Engineer

Description:

Silver Peak Systems is looking for a Hardware Manufacturing Test Engineer who has experience testing network caching appliances. The position is located in Santa Clara, CA.

Job Description

* Improve existing functional test code for manufacturing, including comprehensive test data collection and coverage.
* This position will work closely with engineers, technicians, and operators, internal and external, to resolve issues quickly and to increase the robustness of manufacturing functional test code.
* Work closely with project team members as needed to ensure smooth transition to new releases.
* Individual will need a good understanding of product manufacturing process for networking appliances.
* Hands on knowledge of Windows 9x, Windows NT, Unix and with programming interfaces with software packages such as MS Visual Studio. Test equipment automation interfaces and networking are essential.

Job Requirements

* 5+ years of test engineering experience
* Experience with basic electronics, hardware systems, and communications protocols such as Ethernet, SNMP, and HTTP
* Individual will have strong development skills Visual Basic, MS Access, Linux, Source Safe, third part APIs
* Experience in the WAN acceleration space a plus
* Ability and willingness to take ownership to get the job done with minimal supervision
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Silver Peak is looking for a candidate who is available initially for short-term contract
