The Sales Engineer provides customers and sales reps with technical product advice and demo support during pre-sales discussions. The Sales Engineer should be able to communicate product value and provide technical demonstration for mid to enterprise organizations. Provide installation and pre-sales support for all SolarWinds products. The Sales Engineer will operate under general supervision and solve moderately complex sales support problems. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for: * Performing technical pre-sales support activities in support of the company's products or services sales. * Performing product demos Answering technical questions from potential customers * Maintaining and continually updating technical understanding of products * Assisting Inside Sales Representatives and prospects in resolving pre-sales technical problems * Performing pre-sale technical support duties, including installation and training * Providing feedback to product managers and development on how products can be modified/designed to meet customer’s needs. | ||||||
| Qualifications: | Education and Work Experience: * Four to five years of technical product support experience * Ability to resolve modest pre-sales technical problems, working with field sales personnel * Ability to present basic technical concepts in clear manner to customers through demos and proposals * Good writing, editing, communications and interpersonal skills * Good PC skills; including but not limited to Windows XP, Windows Visa, Windows Server 2003 and 2008 * General understanding of SNMP, WMI, and IP Flow protocols * Shell scripting is helpful but not required * Introductory knowledge/familiarity with SQL 2005/2008 * Must have the ability to work in fast paced, customer interfacing environment | ||||||
