| Description: | SolarWinds is looking for a charter member for its growing user experience team. Job responsibilities: - Turn high level product requirements into workflows, wireframes, and comps - Organize disparate UIs across different products into a single design system - Informally test designs with co-workers and end users - Effectively share designs with developers, both here in Austin and offshore - Thoughtfully incorporate user, developer, and product manager feedback into design revisions - Review existing and newly implemented user interfaces and give detailed, constructive feedback - Address usability issues in products quickly – cook up solutions in minutes and hours, not days and weeks - Contribute to building new processes for our growing user experience team - Address end users UI concerns and questions via thwack, an online community - Provide production art necessary to implement your designs Your daily work will be seen and used by thousands of SolarWinds users. | ||||||
| Qualifications: | Musts: - 4+ years experience designing software user interfaces - Ability to quickly mock up software UIs - Expert user of design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Omnigraffle, etc. – whatever tools you use to build workflows, wireframes and comps) - Knowledge of current web trends and technology - Experience informally testing UI designs and software for good usability Pluses: - Networking knowledge - HTML/CSS/.NET experience - Iconography skills - Strong visual design aesthetic and ability - Sense of humor | ||||||
