Summary:

The Tripwire Systems Engineer is a technical sales/systems engineering professional with advanced technical abilities, and broad industry familiarity including IT Auditing, IT service management, Security Incident and Event Management, Standards, Best practices and common regulations, e.g. CISA, ITIL, BS7799, Cobit, PCI, SOX, NERC, NIST, etc. The successful Tripwire systems engineer must possess a customer-oriented and solutions selling mindset. The incumbent will use these skills in an enabling role, providing 'Value based' product demonstrations for customers in the sales cycle as well as technical assistance, onsite Proof of concept testing for prospective customers, technical partner training and account ownership during the entire pre and post sales cycles.

Responsibilities:

* Provide technical overview of our product architecture, functionality, system / data requirements, and integration with other enterprise applications in a 'Solutions Selling' sales model
* Credibly describe and demonstrate our solutions such that potential customers see their top-of-mind problems solved in both onsite and online (web based) venues.
* Ability to discuss and demonstrate how Tripwire solutions map to Change Audit processes, Configuration control, Log Management and SIEM within common IT service management infrastructures.
* Develop customer specific technical product demonstrations.
* Provide prospective customers with expert assistance in setting up and evaluating the Tripwire software solutions within their testing and staging environments (Proof of concept and Pilot installations).
* Act as a principal liaison to product marketing and product engineering in communicating customer requirements and information.
* Research competitors, stay current on the competitive landscape, work with the product marketing group to capture and document competitor's capabilities and future plans.
* Stay current with the Operating systems, networking infrastructure, Databases, Directory systems, and adjunct technologies that Tripwire supports, e.g. Linux, AIX, HPUX, Solaris, Windows Server families, Common Networking infrastructure (Cisco, Foundry, Nortel, Alcatel, Nokia, etc), Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, Directory services such as: Active Directory and LDAP, Security Incident and Event Management systems.
* Participate in customer facing seminar presentations, speaker engagements, etc.
* Staff and participate in regional Tradeshows.

Minimum Education and Experience:

* Advanced Operating System, Networking, Database, and Security Incident / Event Management experience required.
* Must demonstrate outstanding communications skills, both written and verbal.
* Must demonstrate exceptional teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate and build consensus in a cross-functional team decision situation.
* Minimum 5 years experience as part of a sales, services or support team in IT systems and networks in a customer facing technical sales role

* Bachelor of Science, Computer Science desirable.
* ITIL Foundations certification desirable
*
* CISSP certification desirable
*
* Virtual Infrastructure experience / certification desirable
*
* Security Incident and Event Management experience desirable
*
* Systems integration and process consulting experience desirable
*
* Experience with change management systems desirable (e.g., Remedy ARS, HP Service Desk)
* Unix and Linux administration experience desirable.
* *Must* be a self-starter and able to work independently with an entrepreneurial spirit.
* *Must* demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high-growth environment.
* *Must* possess good time and task management skills.
* Must be flexible and able to travel frequently within your sales territory.
